Location

Where is Healios Laser Therapy in Costa Mesa?

We’re at 740 W 16th St, right next door to Self Made Gym, just minutes from the Newport Beach line and an easy drive from most of central Orange County.

Sessions run 15–45 minutes and fit easily into your day. Laser therapy is non-invasive with no downtime, so you can get treated and get right back to your normal routine.

We see people at all stages of recovery. Some come in right after a new injury, strain, sprain, or surgery. Others have been dealing with pain or an injury for months and haven’t found the relief they’re looking for.

And plenty fall somewhere in between — weekend athletes, active adults, people on their feet all day, or those using laser alongside PT, chiropractic care, or their existing recovery plan.

Wherever you are in your recovery, the goal is simple: help you feel better, recover faster, and get back to doing what you love.

The Technology

What is Class IV laser therapy?

At Healios, Class IV laser therapy is performed exclusively with the CiraPro high-intensity laser — the technology we use across every Healios location.

Class IV laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that uses high-intensity infrared laser energy to deliver therapeutic light into tissue. During treatment, you sit or lie comfortably while a trained clinician moves the laser over the targeted area. Most people simply feel a gentle, soothing warmth.

Not all therapeutic lasers are the same. Traditional low-level laser therapy (LLLT) uses much lower power and may use visible red or near-infrared wavelengths. MLS laser therapy represents another approach, using specific combinations of wavelengths and pulsing.

CiraPro takes a high-intensity approach. Its 1064 nm infrared wavelength is selected for deeper tissue transmission, while its high power allows significantly more therapeutic energy to be delivered at those depths within a practical treatment time.

That combination matters: the infrared wavelength helps the light reach deeper tissue, while the higher power provides the energy needed to deliver an effective dose at depth. The goal is to provide cells and tissues with light energy that supports normal cellular activity and the body’s natural recovery processes.

In simple terms: it’s not just more power — it’s more usable therapeutic energy delivered where it’s needed, including deeper tissue.

Why CiraPro

What makes the CiraPro Class IV laser different?

CiraPro represents a modern generation of high-intensity Class IV laser technology, engineered to improve not only power and depth, but also precision, treatment efficiency, consistency, safety, and the overall patient experience.

Healios chose CiraPro because we wanted more than a powerful laser. We wanted advanced technology engineered to deliver exceptional treatments efficiently and consistently, while giving our clinicians a modern, precise, and highly reliable system.

Up to 72W of power

High-intensity output provides the energy needed to deliver an effective therapeutic dose, including at greater tissue depths.

1064 nm infrared wavelength

Selected for its ability to penetrate deeper into tissue than visible red wavelengths.

Faster, more efficient treatments

Optimized power and energy delivery allow us to deliver meaningful therapeutic doses in shorter sessions.

Designed for results in fewer sessions

CiraPro's combination of wavelength, power, and precise delivery is designed to maximize each treatment, with many clients experiencing noticeable improvement within their first several sessions.

Modern engineering + technology

A streamlined interface, precision controls, mobility, and thoughtful design allow our clinicians to deliver treatments efficiently and consistently.

Engineered for safety + durability

Modern system design and built-in safeguards support reliable operation and give our clinicians greater confidence during every treatment.

One standard across Healios — every Healios location exclusively uses CiraPro, so clients receive the same advanced laser technology wherever they’re treated.

CiraPro gives Healios the combination we were looking for: power at depth, precision, efficiency, modern engineering, and a system designed around both performance and safety.

Conditions

What does laser therapy help with?

Laser therapy can support pain relief and recovery across a wide range of acute injuries, chronic conditions, and post-surgical needs. Every person and condition responds differently, but these are some of the most common reasons clients come to Healios Costa Mesa:

Acute injuries

Ankle sprains, muscle strains and tears, ligament injuries, rotator cuff injuries, ACL/MCL/meniscus recovery, shoulder injuries and overuse injuries.

Chronic pain + ongoing conditions

Low back pain, joint pain and stiffness, sciatica and piriformis syndrome, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis and tendinopathy, Achilles tendinitis, bursitis, carpal tunnel symptoms, tennis and golfer’s elbow, and mobility limitations.

Post-surgical + specialized recovery

Post-surgical recovery, scar tissue and C-section scar support, wound-healing support, and recovery following orthopedic procedures or injuries.

Sports + performance recovery

Muscle soreness, overuse injuries, training-related aches and pains, and recovery between workouts, competitions, or events.

This isn’t an exhaustive list. If you don’t see what you’re dealing with, call us and ask. We’ll help determine whether laser therapy is an appropriate option for you.

First Visit

What happens at your first visit?

Your first appointment is approximately 45 minutes, giving us time to understand what you’re dealing with, determine the appropriate therapeutic approach, and complete your first laser therapy session.

We’ll start with a conversation about what happened, how long it’s been bothering you, what you’ve already tried, and — most importantly — what you’re trying to get back to doing. From there, your clinician will determine the areas to focus on and the appropriate care plan for your session.

Then we laser. You’ll sit or lie comfortably while your clinician moves the CiraPro laser over the targeted area. You’ll remain clothed wherever possible, with the targeted area exposed as needed to allow the laser direct access to the skin. Most clients simply feel a comfortable, soothing warmth throughout their session.

When your session is finished, there’s no downtime. You can get right back to your normal day.

Sessions

How long does laser therapy take, and how many sessions do you need?

15 min

Most sessions

~12 minutes of laser time

30 min

Larger or complex areas

~25 minutes of laser time

That makes CiraPro laser therapy easy to fit into a busy day while still delivering meaningful therapeutic energy efficiently.

Most laser sessions require just a 15-minute appointment block, approximately 12 minutes of actual laser time. Some areas or more complex needs may require a longer session – typically a 30-minute appointment block with 25 minutes of laser time.

How many sessions you’ll need depends on what you’re coming in for, how long you’ve been dealing with it, its severity, and how your body responds. Some clients notice a difference in as little as one session, while others benefit from a series of sessions as their recovery progresses.

At Healios, your care plan is individualized to you. We’ll see how your body responds, recommend the frequency and number of sessions we believe will best support your recovery, and continue adjusting your care plan based on your progress.

Our goal is simple: provide the right care, at the right frequency, to help you make meaningful progress as efficiently as possible.

FAQ

Costa Mesa laser therapy FAQs

Most clients find laser therapy to be warm, soothing, and comfortable. Because CiraPro is a high-intensity laser, you will feel warmth as the laser moves over the targeted area. Some areas may feel more warm at first – your clinician will communicate with you throughout the session and adjust as needed for your comfort.

No downtime is required after a laser session. You can leave your appointment and get right back to your normal day and activities.

Some clients may notice temporary warmth or mild sensitivity in the area afterward. Your clinician will also review relevant health information before your first session. Tell your clinician about any medications or medical conditions at your first visit. There are situations where a laser isn’t the right fit, and we’d rather flag that up front.

No. You can book directly with Healios Costa Mesa — no referral required.

Healios does not bill or accept insurance directly. However, we do accept FSA and HSA funds, and we’re happy to provide documentation from your sessions that you can submit to your insurance provider to request reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your individual plan and is not guaranteed.

Everyone responds differently. Some clients notice a change within their first couple sessions, while more chronic or complex concerns may take longer.

Rather than promising a specific timeline before we’ve even started, we’ll see how your body responds and provide a realistic recommendation for your care based on your progress.

Yes. Many of our clients incorporate laser therapy alongside physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage, strength training, or other parts of their recovery plan.

Laser therapy can complement and enhance the care and recovery work you’re already doing. Let your Healios clinician know what else is part of your routine so we can help you incorporate laser appropriately.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that can easily be moved or removed as needed to access the area we’re working on.

The CiraPro laser does not physically touch your skin, but the laser beam needs direct, unobstructed access to exposed skin over the targeted area. For example, shorts are ideal for a knee, thigh, or ankle, while a tank top or loose-fitting shirt makes it easier to access a shoulder or upper back.

We’ll keep you comfortably covered wherever possible while ensuring your clinician has the direct skin access needed for your laser session.

Yes. When used appropriately by trained clinicians, Class IV laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive technology designed to deliver therapeutic light energy to cells within deeper tissues.

At Healios, every clinician is fully trained and certified on the CiraPro technology, including laser safety, system operation, and appropriate protocols for different areas and needs. Every client is screened before their first session, protective eyewear is required during laser use, and established safety protocols are followed throughout every session.

We take both the technology and the responsibility of using it properly seriously, so you can feel confident in the care you receive at every Healios location.
